Building Bridges of Hope Within the Community

Thank You for Choosing Jesus Christ Today!!!

{Choosing Jesus is the most important decision an individual could ever make}

Dear Friend;

Thanks for inquiring about beginning a relationship with God. The Bible is very clear that a relationship with God comes through Jesus Christ.

Sometimes people who are interested in knowing more about accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior need time to carefully consider this decision. I respect that very much. I remember I was 22 years old when I understood God's love for me and became a devoted follower of Christ. It took me almost a year to accept Christ fully into my life! But I can honestly say I wish I had done so, much sooner!

We would like to give you an overview of the steps we feel are necessary in having a relationship with God. We suggest you request & read the small pamphlet on "Knowing God Personally". It is an excellent and simple illustration of the first step in a meaningful relationship with God.

OVERVIEW

1. Understand that God loves you! (Matthew 11:28-30; 1 Peter 5:7)
He loves you as a perfect parent would love their child. God is not "out to get you" for your wrong doings! Rather He is "out to help you" understand how much He really cares for you. God wants to help you live your life to the fullest, which results in honoring Him.

2. Understand that your sin has separated you from God. (Romans 3:23)
The truth is, none of us deserve to go to heaven when we die because we are all sinners. That's the Bad News!

3. Understand that Jesus Christ died for your sins. (Romans 6:23)
That's the Good News! God did not want you to be separated from Him so He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for you. He was literally punished for our sin. He paid the penalty of death for our sin, giving us an opportunity to be saved from separation from God.

4. Understand that Jesus Christ has risen from the dead and lives to help you.
Jesus Christ desires to help us live life! Through His word (the Bible) and His Spirit that lives inside every believer - we can have the right purpose and direction for life.

5. Understand God wants you to believe in His Son Jesus Christ. (John 3:16; Ephesians 3:8-9)
God say's that the only requirement to be saved from separation from God is to believe in His Son Jesus Christ. It is not by doing good works that begins a relationship with God - it is only through faith in His Son.

Communication: To develop your relationship with Christ, it is so important to communicate with Him! He communicates with you as you read His word (the Bible). You communicate with Him as you talk to Him in Prayer! Going to Church will also help you hear, understand, and get to know God Better. The Bible says whoever believes in Jesus Christ will never be disappointed.

 Once again, Congratulations, God has great plans for your life!
