Building Bridges of Hope Within the Community

The Evangelist Corner

Welcome!

On this page you will hear from our Evangelist, Robert H. Fischer. When it comes to having a personal relationship with Jesus its important to come when He calls us.  Jesus tells us that if we call upon Him, He will answer.  If you have any questions about how you can get to know Jesus on a more personal level, please click on the image below to go to our "Know Jesus" page.

Do You Have an Open Mind?
Then Please Read This!

God is thinking about you right now!  He loves you; here are five things he wants you to know.

1st Thing:  GOD'S LOVE
God really loes you and wants to give you life, real life, spirit-filled life, full and satisfying.
God's word, the Bible, says in:
  • John 3:16:  "For God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son so that anyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." (LB)
  • John 10:10:  "...I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly." (NASB)
  • John 11:25:  "Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection, and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies." (NASB)
What keeps most people from entering this spirit filled abundant life?

2nd Thing: SEPARATION BY SIN
God made us with a free will to either choose or reject His love.  We chose to reject God's love and in doing so we disobeyed God.  This disobedience is called sin, and sin separates us from God.
     God's word says in:
  • Romans 3:23:  ... for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (NASB)
  • Romans 6:23:  For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (NASB)
  • Proverbs 14:12:  There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. (NASB)
3rd Thing:  GOD'S SOLUTION IS JESUS CHRIST
The only way out of sin is Jesus Christ.
Jesus died on the cross in our place, and with His blood He paid the price for our sins.  He bridged the gap between God and man.
  • 1st Timothy 2:5:  That God is on one side and all the people on the other side, and Christ Jesus, Himself man, is between them to bring them together.  (LB)
  • Romans 5:8:  But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  (NASB)
  • Galations 1:4:  He died for our sins just as God our Father planned, and rescued us from this evil world in which we live. (LB)
  • Colossians 1:14: ...who bought our freedom with His blood and forgave us all our sins. (LB)
  • 1 Peter 2:24 ... and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness, for by His wounds you were healed. (LB)
We must choose to receive God's love.

4th Thing:  MAN MUST RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST
We must invite Jesus into our heart and life, and trust Him as Lord and Savior of our life.
  • Revelation 3:20:  "Behold, I stand at the door (of your heart) and knock; if any one hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with Me."  (NASB)
  • John 1:12:  But to all who received Him, He gave the right to become children of God.  All they needed to do was trust Him to save them. (LB)
  • 2nd Timothy 1:10:  And now He has made all of this plain to us by the coming of our Savior Jesus Christ, who broke the power of death and showed us the way of everlasting life through trusting Him. (LB)
     What to do:
     1.  Believe that Jesus Christ died for you.
     2.  Admit that you are a sinner.
     3.  Be willing to turn away from your sin.
     4.  Ask Jesus to forgive you of all your sins.
     5.  Ask Jeus to come into your heart and life.

How to pray: God knows you, and so does His Son Jesus.  Talk to Them as you would your best friend.  (They are!).
      Suggested prayer:
Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner, and I need your help with my life.  I believe that You died in my place for my sins; and I receive You, Jesus, right now into my heart.  Take control of my life, and make me the kind of person You want me to be.  Thank You for forgiving me all my sins, and coming into my heart this day.

Did you really mean what you just prayed?  Do you believe that your sins are forgiven and that Jesus has entered your life?

  • "Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if any one hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with Me."  Rev. 3:20 (NASB)
  •  He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.  These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life.  First John 5:12, 13 (NASB)

5th Thing:  HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM
Now that Jesus is in your heart, He wants you to walk with Him and receive the Holy Spirit.
  • John 14:26 says,  But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you."  (NASB)
Jesus knows we need help to live the life that He wants us to live and to witness for Him.
  • Acts 1:8:  "...but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses..." (NASB)
We need power to walk with God and to be his children.
  •  Luke 11:13:  "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"  (NASB)
  • Acts 11:15,16: "And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, just as He did upon us at the beginning. And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, 'John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit'."
  • Acts 2:4:  And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues (languages), as the Spirit was giving them utterance. (NASB)
You must ask for the Holy Spirit in faith, believing you have received Him, by opening your mouth and letting God have control of your tongue so that He can give you a heavenly language.  Why?
  • James 3:8:  But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison.  (NASB)
God wants us to praise Him.  If you give Him your tongue, He can easily work on the rest of you.       When you pray for the baptism in the Holy Spirit you will speak in tongues.  Use them always.
  • Ezekiel 36:27:  "And I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances." (NASB)
  • 1st Corinthians 2:12: Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things freely given to us by God.  (NASB)
  • 2nd Corinthians 1:22:  ...who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge. (NASB)
  • Galatians 4:6:  And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! *Father!"  (NASB)
Pray right now and Jesus will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.
Lord Jesus, thank you for forgiving me all my sins, and for being in my heart as my Lord and Savior.  But I need power to live the Christian life, power to witness for You, power to do Your will.  Please, right now, baptize me in the Holy Spirit. I receive the Holy Spirit right now in Jesus' name.  (Now open your mouth and speak in tongues.)

*Abba is Hebrew for daddy.

Ask God for all that He has for You!
  • Gal. 5:22, 23 (KJV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
  • 1st Cor. 12:8-10 (KJV) The gifts of the Spirit are wisdom, knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, divers kinds of tongues, interpretation of tongues.
We love you in the Lord.
