Building Bridges of Hope Within the Community

Help Two Network

Our organization is under the umbrella of "Living Hope Community Church". It is called "The Help Two Network". We have founded this network to reach out first to the Chicago Heights Community and then beyound its borders to those in need. We will be working with another not-for-profit organization called, "Pay It Forward". Both Pay It Forward and The Help Two Network are based on the movie, "Pay It Forward". The premise of the movie is that we should help others do what they cannot do for themselves.

Mission: To help those in need, to find the community services that can assist them. To this end, we will act as a referral, education and training center.

Goal: To establish us in the community as an agency that can help people help themselves towards a brighter future, through education, referrals and training.

This Network helps those in need, whether it is for temporary shelter, food, clothing, and medical, dental or financial emergencies. We will work heavily with those agencies already established within the community as a referral service. We will provide Basic Business Etiquette and Training skills to help people get and retain employment. We will work with the local colleges and school districts to provide parenting classes, tutoring and business courses.

We will work with local agencies to provide food, clothing and shelter allotments to those who are in need of those services. We will work with other local businesses in this area to provide needed services to our clients. If someone needs a haircut or a manicure for a job interview, we will work with local barbers, hairdressers and manicurists to get their hair/nails done at a special rate. We will work with other established agencies to provide a work wardrobe for those returning to the work force after a sustained absence. We will work with the local restaurants and grocery stores to provide a meal and or groceries to families that are struggling.

We will also refer people to the agencies who can help them with their medical/dental needs, and where to sign up for social security, disability, food stamps. We will also work with people to train them how to take public transportation, or  help them find a car they can use to get back and forth to work. To this end, we will work with car dealerships/repair shops to get used cars off their lots (or cars that have been repaired and not yet paid for or claimed after several months), to assist our clients in their transportation needs.

Note: No one who comes to our agencies will be compelled to come to church in order to receive help!
